James McGuffie

About

James McGuffie is the driving force behind Forest Creek Records, an indie label which acts as an umbrella for his work as a singer-songwriter, producer, mixing engineer, and artist mentor. James divides his time between solo projects, collaborations, and mentoring budding singer-songwriters and producers. After almost a decade in the Melbourne music scene—both as a session player and under his former alias 'Mcrobin'—McGuffie is now set up in the Central Victorian village of Chewton, just outside of Castlemaine. This historic spot, with its gold-mining past, is not too dis-similar from his North East Victorian roots. Some recent collaborations have included the likes of Lior, Ainslie Wills, Eliza Hull, and Benjamin Trillado. Fans of the 70's folk-rock tradition and modern sonic innovators like Wilco, Kurt Vile, and Radiohead will find a lot to love in James's writing and production style.
