Impulsive Hearts

About
Chicago's "sad-surf" indie-rock band shared their third album Fit 4 The Apocalypse last year via legendary indie-rock label Cavity Search Records (Elliott Smith, Helio Sequence) . Danielle Sines leads the group with brooding, captivating vocals, (RIYL: Sharon VanEtten, Mazzy Star, Dusty Springfield) fuzzy guitars and fierce, catchy-as-hell songwriting. Echoing the likes of Best Coast and Dum Dum Girls, Sines adds a "hint of indelible Midwestern sadness" to the band's garage pop sound. Impulsive Hearts were nominated "Best Rock Band" in the 2024 and 2023 Chicago Reader poll. Their third LP, "Fit 4 the Apocalypse" was also nominated for best local album of the year in the Chicago Reader. The latest record keeps the girls-in-the-garage sounds going, and adds sharper songwriting with witty lyricisms. The sound this all women LGBTQ+ band creates has been described as, "beach-bubble ice-cream-sunset garage rock," and "the kind of music to turn up in your car, roll the windows down, and cruise around to." "Impulsive Hearts' Fit 4 the Apocalypse is the Chicago indie rock band's boldest, warmest, and most ambitious offering to date." - Atwood Magazine "The songs are studies in contrast, sweet melodies and then distortion and rage." - Jessica Hopper, Chicago Tribune The remaster of their debut album Sorry In The Summer that will be released this spring on Cavity Search Records.
