Her Name Is Karma is a quintet of musicians as eclectic and diverse as the beliefs, thoughts, and deeds which influence their name. Reigning from the scorching North Texas region, the roots of the group begin with Albert Harbour (lead guitar) and Brian King (drums/percussion), having worked together in prior incarnations of the group since 2012. Over the course of the next few years, a minor cast of characters worked alongside the two founding members. Along the way, Taylor Smith (vocals) joined and immediately her impact was felt. With a vocal style that is both brooding and muse-like, Taylor proved to be not just a key member of the group but a catalyst in the musical direction they would take. Rounded out by enlisting longtime friends Lee Ray (bass) and Lincoln Coleman (guitar), Her Name Is Karma is at long last on the path they were always destined to be on. The music of Her Name Is Karma is a meshing of alternative rock with elements of prog-rock, and post-hardcore: guitar licks that are shredding and complex, melodies that are hooking and contagious, rhythms as thick and driving as thunder, and vocals that are as luring as a siren. While they may produce a sound that is akin to their predecessors, Her Name Is Karma is set to embark on a journey that blazes its own path seeking to leave its own small mark on music.
