Heat Preacher

About

Formed in Chapel Hill, NC in 2016, Heat Preacher seamlessly blends the genres of alt-rock, soul, and indie to bring you a unique take on modern music. Rock influences such as Wilco, Radiohead, and Tame Impala intersect with flashes of Motown, Ray LaMontagne, and Van Morrison. Singer JD Rust's soulful vocals and introspective lyrics give each song continuity over an ever-changing musical landscape provided by the rest of the band. In 2020, they released their first full-length "Before We Expire", which was well received by listeners and local critics alike. They built off of this release to become reputed as one of the most exciting live acts in the Triangle. Steadily releasing singles from 2021 to 2024, they are ever evolving their sound and methods of writing and recording. Heat Preacher has shared the stage with national touring acts and amazing local bands such as Eyelids, The Gone Ghosts, Old Heavy Hands, Charles Latham and the Borrowed Band, Country Cruel, Reese McHenry, Lord Nelson, and Crenshaw Pentecostal. Heat Preacher joined All Y'all Records in January of 2024. All Y'all is a new record collective of indie-rock and alt-country artists from NC and beyond.
