Half Tail

About

Half Tail is a band from Seattle. Song topics include childhood, dictators, and coyotes. Throughout history, a certain archetype of wild animal has captured the imagination of humans. This animal is the elder statesman of the natural world. At times, it's been a lion in Tanzania, an elephant in India, or a wolf in Canada. It's usually the eldest member of the pack. Other times, it can't bothered with packs anymore. It's survived challenges from within its ranks. It's dodged hunters' bullets, or lived on with metal lodged in its hide. More often than not, a body part goes missing somewhere along the way, with the tail being the most likely candidate. Sometimes this animal reaches enough notoriety for humans to name it. In such cases, they often land on one that requires no further explanation: Half Tail. Half Tail's latest EP, I WAS A COYOTE ALL ALONG, released in 2024. It's mostly about the unforgiving laws of nature, whether applied to humans or other species. Our debut EP, CATCHING FROGS AT NIGHT, released in 2022. The songs cover everything from falling in love on a road trip to running wild as kid (and stressing out your mom). You can email us at halftailband@gmail.com.
