About
Half Hadley is an independent American rock band featuring Scott Rainaud (Lead Vocals), Benji Arnold (Guitar, Vocals), Troy Johnson (Guitar), Forrest Klawunn (Bass) and Winston Vargo (Drums). The group formed in October 2018 after Scott, Benji, Troy and Winston attended a Tigers Jaw concert at Brooklyn Steel. The four met as a loose circle of mutual friends and left as bandmates, knowing something special was on the horizon the moment they made introductions. Forrest joined the band a few months later as their full time bassist to round out the group and enhance their sound. Since forming in the morning hours outside of a dive bar in Brooklyn after that fateful show, the band has become a regular in the New York rock scene where all four members currently reside, practice, and perform. Notable performance venues include Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene’s Grocery, Pianos, and the Bitter End. Drawing influence from a wide array of genres including alternative rock, psychedelic rock, punk rock, pop punk, classic rock, post-grunge, emo, and indie, Half Hadley seeks to encapsulate audiences using dissonance, minimalism, and authenticity as their north star when writing and performing music. Jimmy Eat World, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Manchester Orchestra, Taking Back Sunday, Tame Impala, The Killers, Bloc Party, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mt. Joy are among the most influential artists for the band.
