Groupchat
Chicago, Illinois, United States
About
Formed in February 2021, GroupChat is rostered by singer and guitarist Justin Jacobs, vocalist Yasmine Gordon, guitarist Ayden Jerutis, bassist and vocalist Jimmy McDermed, keyboardist Zach Molina, drummer TJ Thompson, and guitarist Danny McDermed. GroupChat’s origin is rooted in childhood friendships and a coincidental run-in at a college house party. Quickly, a “group chat” was formed, and the rest is history. GroupChat started out by playing at local skateparks and dive bars. After finding success in Chicago’s live music scene and releasing their first single “Dancing Around,” an energetic pop anthem, GroupChat has been taking giant steps by packing some of Chicago’s most prestigious music venues. They bring a unique energy, effortlessly gliding between funk and vintage rock. Influenced by a wide range of artists such as Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Stevie Wonder, GroupChat’s freshman album will leave you wanting more. Come join the GroupChat.
