About
Welcome to Groom Lake... Taking their moniker from the classified U.S. facility Area 51, and hailing just miles from Rendlesham Forest - the scene of the UK's most infamous UFO incident - Groom Lake are a band that seek out the unknown, the unexplained and the unsettling as their sources of inspiration and have sought to forge a sound that reflects the other-worldliness of their influences. After announcing themselves with debut single No Relief in 2019, the band played a sold-out show in their hometown before experiencing a breakthrough year in 2020. The band embarked on their first UK tour, received national radio and press coverage, and released their debut EP 'Fallen Earth' - recorded by Jonny Renshaw of Bandit Studios (Devil Sold His Soul, Blood Youth, Dream State) - in June 2020, racking up over 100,000 streams in just six weeks. Groom Lake returned with the frantic, soaring, hauntingly-heavy single Ghosts in June 2021 and followed up with the gargantuan, hook-laden Monument in 2022. The band bid farewell to their followers in July 2023 with one final performance to a sold-out audience in Ipswich.
