About
Black / Death Metal from Austria. Graufar (an old German word for the color “grey”) was founded in Linz, Austria at the end of 2020. The band complements Black-Metal with Death-Metal parts and also with melodic elements. Therefore, the common Black-Metal screams occasionally switch to low growls. The English as well as German lyrics vary between socially critical topics, the dark sides of humanity and personal experiences. In 2024 Graufar won the Wacken Metal Battle Austria. "Scordalus" is the first album from Graufar. The instruments were recorded by Gernot G. in 2023, Austria. Sound-Design, the Vocal-Recordings and Mixing & Mastering were done by Norbert Leitner in the winter of 2023/24, Austria and the album was supported by ske-fonds.at. The album cover was done by trendmord and shows a devil-like creature emerging from the mist and shadows sowing the seed of discord to root itself in a divided society and feeding off humanity’s hate and cruelty.
