Gold Finch is a Grunge/Punk band from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (just 100 kilometres west of Toronto). The band started as a fun endeavour between vocalist/bassist Omar Khatib and guitarist Conor McCartney in high school, but soon after releasing a basement demo of their song “Breathe In”, they decided they wanted to make it more than just an after-school jam. In March 2016, the band released their first EP “I’ve Haunted Myself For Too Long” which seemed to mix well with Ontario’s alternative scene at the time. Soon after they met second guitarist Jonah Snooks, they then released their sophomore EP “Forlorn” which created much buzz in the Ontario alternative scene. The band was featured in Alternative Press’ “11 Unsigned Canadian Bands it’s Aboot Time You’ve Heard, Eh?”. Since then the band has been touring all of Ontario and Eastern Canada and have been establishing themselves as a household name in the underground Canadian alternative scene. In March 2018, the band went into Room 21 Studios in Toronto to record their 3rd EP, they released the first single in September 2018 and will be dropping another one in February 2019, so it is safe to assume that the band is on to something special -keep an eye out for the Waterloo rockers!
