About

Established in 2014, Fruitless Worship started as nothing more than an extraneous songwriting outlet for Seattle musician Mal McDowall who, at the time, was more focused on their work in the Hard Rock trio Filament Wire. As time progressed, eventually an EP called "LOVE?" was cobbled together, consisting of grunge-inspired singer/songwriter style anthems of sorrow, and the project started to form its own identity. 2023 Releases "Broken" and "Absent Mindful" exemplify the duality of the project, and have laid the groundwork for a musical path that is subgenre-independent but strongly loud and alternative. With a lineup consisting of Greg Norwine on bass and Anuj Pant on drums, Fruitless Worship is currently gigging in the Seattle area, and is working hard on balancing a large wealth of future releases with an appropriate amount of quality and polish.
