“The long-awaited debut album 'The Dawn' from Chicago’s heavy post-rock outfit From Beyond These Walls, featuring guest appearances by Charlie Benante (Anthrax, S.O.D.), and James Genenz (Jungle Rot, Avernus). For fans of MOGWAI, HUM, and CASPIAN.” Through a mutual love for horror movies/music/soundtracks and directors, such as John Carpenter, Dario Argento, and David Cronenberg, veterans of the Chicago music scene Jeff Ulbrich (Death Pose, Rhone, Lucid Ground), and Erik Kikke (Avernus) began to collaborate on a new musical vision. Beginning as an instrumental project with atmospheric soundscapes, utilizing guitars and synthesizers with drum programming…this established the original blueprint for what would become the basis for the band’s signature sound. Their debut EP ‘The Clear,’ served as the archetype for the band, drawing immediate attention and comparisons to bands like Mogwai, Hum, and Caspian. Following the release of the EP, with the addition of Jake Ennis (Rhone, Light the King) on drums and James Genenz (Jungle Rot, Avernus) on bass, the full lineup was officially established. Their original soundscapes were then anchored into a heavier, more unique sound of their own, magnified further through their engaging live shows as a four-piece.
