Frightful Places
New Haven, Connecticut, United States
About
New music coming August 29th! Frightful Places, based in New Haven, CT, blends emo, indie, and alternative influences from bands like Thrice, Movements, and Foxing, with haunting melodies and introspective lyrics. The project, led by Kevin Tiernan (Mighty Tortuga), is the cathartic result of eight years of self-reflection, written in bedrooms across Connecticut and along the Appalachian Trail. The self-titled Frightful Places EP (produced by Chris Teti of The World Is a Beautiful Place), earned praise from the emo community, with features on Chorus.fm, Punknews, and Idobi Radio. Smallalbums.com described the band's sound as "the gray edges of smoke billowing out of somewhere across a foggy city."
