About
Free Drew is a 3-piece pop punk/alternative group based in Cleveland, Ohio, which came to be as the result of a high school "Battle of the Bands" in early 2019. After 2 years of playing and writing music for fun, the band recorded their first 3 singles with Jim Wirt at Superior Sound. In October of that same year, Free Drew entered and won the first ever Battle of The Land competition, hosted by Tower City in Cleveland, where they performed as the opening act for local legends Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In late 2022, the band released their debut EP "Rug Burn" with Chris Ebbert at Lava Room Recording, and have since been working on writing new music and further developing their signature sound. Free Drew is fronted by lead singer and bassist Drew Smith with support from guitarist Derek Francis and drummer Thom Smith. The trio draw inspiration from some of their favorite bands, including Green Day, Weezer, blink-182, and other pop-punk and alternative artists.
