Ventura, California, United States
About
Franklin for Short was formed in 2001 by <a href="spotify:artist:3KZ9mFfZobwNmnrg16k5vp" data-name="Seth Pettersen">Seth Pettersen</a> (Vocals/Guitar) and <a href="spotify:artist:6WKdulgrl39E6wlWj4Uc5i" data-name="Trevor Beld Jimenez">Trevor Beld Jimenez</a> (Bass/Vocals). The duo played their first gig at an open-mic at the long-gone Day Road Cafe in Ventura, CA. In March of 2002 they recorded their first album 'Slept In' using minimal equipment. They distributed the 12 song recording by handing it out at their local gigs. The spray-painted CD-R's encased in a photocopy booklet quickly made their rounds around Ventura and it wasn't before long that friends were burning their own copies to share. Before disbanding in 2011 Franklin for Short released six full length albums and three e.p.’s. They toured extensively throughout California and into the United States sharing the stage with notable acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:0rpMdBzQXf7aYRnu5fDBJy" data-name="Violent Femmes">Violent Femmes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:41AbNVba2ccpmcc9QtOJE7" data-name="Kings of Convenience">Kings of Convenience</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0Z6hyoqGpchajBS8Gt3c0l" data-name="Little Wings">Little Wings</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0rZpNCCYOe06am554MyKRu" data-name="Neal Casal">Neal Casal</a> to name a few. <a href="spotify:artist:3KZ9mFfZobwNmnrg16k5vp" data-name="Seth Pettersen">Seth Pettersen</a> went on to make several solo albums and is currently fronting the punk trio <a href="spotify:artist:59ImpdLVrhUocTczOKEfb0" data-name="Sweet Reaper">Sweet Reaper</a>. <a href="spotify:artist:6WKdulgrl39E6wlWj4Uc5i" data-name="Trevor Beld Jimenez">Trevor Beld Jimenez</a> is making solo records as well as collaborating in <a href="spotify:artist:680wjuQjxWqvT4H23YlAb4" data-name="Parting Lines">Parting Lines</a>.
