Fiddlehead

About
Fiddlehead (1990-1995) was a noise/post punk band from Atlanta, GA. Despite nearly getting swallowed by the majors in the Nevermind feeding-frenzy, Fiddlehead released most of its music on independent label Allied Recordings of San Francisco. They have been described as Chicago-esque, avant-garde, a heavy Slint, etc. They drew their inspiration from DC, Louisville, San Diego, as well as Seattle music scenes. Fiddlehead consisted of Kyle Spence on drums, Mike Haggerty on bass, Bruce Bohannon on guitar and vocals, and Geoey Cook on vocals. Kyle Spence currently plays drums with Kurt Vile and produces records at RJS in Athens, GA. Fiddlehead's latest release, The Chicago Reels, was recorded by Steve Albini in 1993 and mixed by Kyle Spence in 2022 and is available on limited vinyl through Echodelick Records. https://echodelickrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-chicago-reels
