About
Praised as "ROCK-‘N’-ROLL, THROUGH AND THROUGH" by Interview Magazine, Everest Cale's music swells with guitar-drenched free-for-alls before collapsing, leaving just singer Brett Treacy and his guitar pulling the audience closer with his hushed voice, earnest lyrics, and just the right amount of ringing in your ear. Everest Cale was born when Brett Treacy (vocals, guitar) moved from South Carolina to New York City to focus on original material. He expanded his solo sound by adding Jeremy Kolmin (guitar), Aaron Nystrup (bass), and Aidan Shepard (drums). In 2012 Everest Cale debuted their first record, Beast, engineered by Joe Colmenero at the iconic Cutting Room Studios in the heart of NYC. Enthralling lyrics underscored by an unmistakably indie rock sound made the title track "Beast" an instant favorite. Colmenero also recorded the band's second album, Constellation Choir in 2013. The record was well-received with the first single "Before I Knew What Love Was" garnering millions of listens. Mary Lee, released in 2016, was recorded at The End in Brooklyn, the record incorporates new songs alongside polished takes of some of their earliest material. The band released their first cover in 2018, “Mother” by John Lennon, recorded and mixed by renowned engineer Parks Vallely, featuring Treacy’s take on Lennon’s screaming outro. In 2021 the single “My Ally” was released. Since then the band has been in the studio working on their next full length album to be released in 2025.
