DUNE Aimee is a Dutch independent alt-pop artist and songwriter with a bubbly personality. She conveys personal stories that reflect the hopeless romantic she is. This, self-reflection and a bit of self-acceptance make her songs so raw and relatable for young adults and anyone else still trying to figure themselves out. From intimate acoustic guitars inspired by Lizzy McAlpine to catchy pop anthems like Maggie Rogers’ ‘Light On’ and nordic pop inspired melodies, DUNE Aimee captures listeners with her voice which, due to its softness and breathiness in intimate moments, has been compared to Billie Eilish. The title of DUNE Aimee’s debut EP ‘By The End of Dune’ playfully references the end of the month June and the pronunciation of her name, something that’s temporary and the end of an old version of yourself. It gives you an insight in the diary of a hopeless romantic with a hint of attachment and separation anxiety. Overall, a vulnerable and personal EP filled with self reflection, emotion and acceptance that everything does not aways have to be perfect.
