About
David Wax & Suz Slezak, the plucky husband-wife duo behind the eclectic and exuberant indie band David Wax Museum, recently released <a href="spotify:album:63bC5AxzHN3DCJ6n0CAqFU" data-name="You Must Change Your Life">You Must Change Your Life</a>. Produced by Dan Molad (of <a href="spotify:artist:1WrqUPWlHN5FXCRcQgrkas" data-name="Lucius">Lucius</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4NxTtZTeJqQ1n27i2qnPCe" data-name="Coco">Coco</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7ggmX4ewHrGxPHZ1L9g4DU" data-name="Chimney">Chimney</a>), these technicolor tracks capture—then transcend—bedrock elements of the band’s 15-year recording career with ancient, ever-relevant rhythms of traditional Mexican music, mixed with amber pop hues emanating from an AM radio circa 1975, and unabashed rock riffs—all united with interlacing, seductive harmonies. Co-fronted by multi-instrumentalist <a href="spotify:artist:4iA8WRUbdRRlPDPPXG0563" data-name="Suz Slezak">Suz Slezak</a> w/ her raucous accordion & sublime fiddling along with the charismatic energy of Wax, the on-stage chemistry of this band is both captivating and intimate. Since their early debut as a buzz band at the revered Newport Folk Festival, Wax and Slezak have reached through TV and across radio airwaves, transmitting their dynamism on CBS: This Morning, Tiny Desk Concert and World Cafe. They have soundtracked love stories on & off screens, from the Netflix #1 show Firefly Lane to the wedding of Chasten & Pete Buttigieg. With NPR hailing them as "pure, irresistible joy" & The Guardian heralding their music "global crossover at its best," they've toured the world w/ their two young children in tow & have shared stages with <a href="spotify:artist:196lKsA13K3keVXMDFK66q" data-name="The Avett Brothers">The Avett Brothers</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6OWapcJm9xd55ci9CYbAuT" data-name="Los Lobos">Los Lobos</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6FxuPrpa8phaP3Xn73emhT" data-name="The Wood Brothers">The Wood Brothers</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:27AzFtMZhRN78bAMPntbpF" data-name="Old 97's">Old 97's</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:11kBu957KTYoAltZHDm8gW" data-name="Buena Vista Social Club">Buena Vista Social Club</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:34XlPCFfB4vT7P1ekWq9Jc" data-name="Guster">Guster</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6igfLpd8s6DBBAuwebRUuo" data-name="Josh Ritter">Josh Ritter</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5sXaGoRLSpd7VeyZrLkKwt" data-name="Gregory Alan Isakov">Gregory Alan Isakov</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:675tsBPpaZtqyiBwEf3ZEP" data-name="Watchhouse">Watchhouse</a>.
