About
Daring for Glory has been described as Punk, Alternative Rock, and Hard Rock. But the Washington, DC and Raleigh, NC based-band simply combines their eclectic musical tastes to create a unique yet gripping sound. Zach Gehr, Will Gies, and Nick Slater formed Daring for Glory in 2014 and recorded their first album "Becoming” with a physical release. Jose ‘Tito’ Ramirez joined the band in 2017 and Daring for Glory released their debut album "Shut Up & Listen" in March of 2020 just before the pandemic lockdowns. The world involuntarily faced immense challenges and Daring for Glory had no exemption to these events. Members of the band lost job offers, moved cities, switch career paths, and notably halting all efforts in touring or playing live. These events nearly tore the band apart as goals and priorities were ever-changing for each members’ lives. The group agreed the best way to carry on while divided between two states was to focus on self-producing their music, perfecting their songwriting, and releasing digitally rather than relying on shows. Since 2020, these efforts have resulted in two follow-up singles: “July” and “Amnesia” DFG’s latest release, “Say You Wanna”, captures 80s-like, arena-rock melodies and punk rock influences to deliver a tune reminiscent to those of Cheap Trick and Foo Fighters.
