About

Brain Weasels- 1. (n, pl) fictional creatures used to creatively personify and deflect negative intrusive thoughts. 2. (n, sing) a Northwest Ohio based duo of non-binary whimsical singer-songwriters who make you feel better by singing about feeling bad. Pop sensibilities and harmonies, acoustic twee charm, a touch of punk grit, and clever, yet personal lyrics collide in tunes equally at home in a local coffee shop or Warped Tour 2007. Elai Rose is a licensed therapist and walking thesaurus whose lyrics are as witty as they are sincere. Rose, a regular soloist at open mic nights, brewery stages, and arts festivals, brings their warm voice and shimmering chords to new heights in Brain Weasels. Joy Sitler is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter previously seen playing bass in Paco is Desperate! and guitar in Adoremus. Their diverse background and formal training is on display as they venture into the spotlight with Rose and explore their newfound gender identity. Their commanding upright bass is the defining core of Brain Weasels' sound. The pair has been performing tirelessly and honing their craft for the past year, meticulously tweaking demos in preparation for their debut EP, "Always on my Mind." Produced by Steve Warstler (Shortly, Secret Space, Citizen) and featuring the drumming talents of Nick Zander (Equipment), "Always on my Mind" emerges from the studio to loudly proclaim Brain Weasels as torch-bearers of self-help centric folk punk music.
