Bob the Weather Cat
New Haven, Connecticut, United States
About
Founded in 2021 by bassist/vocalist Ben Robinson and drummer Joe Doto, Bob the Weather Cat started as a noise-punk project, but with the addition of guitarist Janelle Cavanaugh, the band expanded into different styles including alternative rock and grunge. Mainly taking influence from classic punk bands Black Flag and Ramones as well as contemporary hardcore and punk acts Turnstile and the Chats, Bob The Weather Cat has crafted its own sound dubbed “Powerschlop” by the band. They have enjoyed local success since bursting onto the New Haven DIY scene in 2022. Hard hitting riffs and blistering drums pair with Robinson’s cutting vocal style to produce an infectious, one of a kind sound. The band released their debut album on November 3, 2023.
