About
Black Yrs, the solo side of producer-songwriter David Martin, radiates a sense of timeless and familiar elements, skillfully blended with a refreshing, contemporary aura. Black Yrs crafts ethereal, song-inspired compositions that seamlessly blend guitar-driven melodies with atmospheric and dreamy soundscapes. Known for his talent in creating songs filled with yearning and melancholy, Black Yrs combines the immediate intimacy of lo-fi bedroom production with the complex, sonically layered aspects of Dream-pop, Post-Punk and Shoegaze among other genres. Through his music, Black Yrs masterfully blends a profound affection for dreamy melodies with a deep-seated reverence for the cultural undercurrents of the 80s and 90s. The outcome is a collection of contemporary musical concepts that sparkle with a nostalgic radiance, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the enduring charm of his sonic artistry.
