Bekka Madeleine is an emerging sixteen-year-old singer-songwriter from Ann Arbor who imagines the young Americana with a distinctly melancholy twist. Pairing captivating melodies with haunting lyrics, written with her sister Hannah, her voice captures the romanticism, moodiness, and hesitant hope of the new generation. Bekka Madeleine’s first three singles have impressed critics and delighted audiences; her unreleased repertoire, heard at various live shows, also has dedicated fans. Her debut EP, It still snows after December, was released on January 20th, 2025. Bekka Madeleine’s music has been described as having “a density and complexity and maturity… that is just amazing” (Alan Goldsmith, freelance writer and DJ) and as evoking “gothic opera more than teenage melodrama” (Christopher Porter, writer for A2 Pulp). Some of her prominent gigs in the past have included performing at the Northstar Lounge (April 2024) and at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival (June 2024). She has also participated in open mics at The Ark, one of the top music venues in America, and at the world-famous Don’t Tell Mama club in New York City.
