About
In 2025, Arid Wave are a far cry from the band that brothers Ben (guitar/vocals) and Will Palmer (drums) formed in their bedroom a decade prior. Not just through lineup changes (welcoming bassist Chris Cutler in 2024) but also sonically. Originally a gaggle of flannel-clad Nirvana worshippers, slowly a more diverse range of influences started trickling in, culminating in the sea-change that was 2023’s “Life Is Combat”. With pummelling riffs and an unhinged vocal feature from Matt Reynolds (of Heck and Haggard Cat) it was a clear sign that Arid Wave were leaning into their heavier side and staying there. Best experienced live, Arid Wave bring a captivating energy that’ll have you throwing elbows in the pit one minute and belting back a hooky chorus the next.
