A Fool's Errand
s-Hertogenbosch, North Brabant, Netherlands
About
A post-rock band hailing from the medieval city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. Their music is the product of curiosity and thus leads to their deliberately explorative sound. Expect to be surprised by this band. The foundation of A Fool’s Errand was laid in 2011. The line-up changed throughout the years as did the sound of the band, with Willem Schuurmans (guitar) and Alwin van der Ven (bass & trumpet) as the core of the band. Eventually, in 2014, they found a perfect match in Albert Schuurmans (brother of Willem) as a drummer, mostly remaining a trio. With the addition of Fabian Voskuil on guitar in 2015 a group of like-minded musicians found each other that shared a more common ethos towards music. This was the start of the current A Fool’s Errand where instead of ever evolving songs, more songs were being set in stone. This led to their first EP ‘Asfaltpuin / Foxboy’ in 2017 At a concert in 2018 Sarah Cahuasqui heard the music and approached the four dudes to be their vocalist. Since that moment her voice became the soothing contrast to the instrumentals. Her vocals were heard in two songs of their debut album ‘Gravitas’ in 2019. After 4 years A Fool's Errand comes back with the EP "New Ends, Old Beginnings". A collection of four different songs written and (mostly) recorded shortly after 'Gravitas'. For two years the recordings seemed lost, but after the recovery and dotting the I's we're finally releasing it!
