Raised by the salty ocean air of Virginia Beach, VA, the vibrant and inconsistent weather rings true to 2non Vu's music. He began his music journey at the age of 10 where he first learned the drums and played in the school concert band. Somewhere in high school he decided to learn guitar and focus his energy into that. He spent this time playing open mics at coffee shops and bars where he grew an affinity to those crowds. From that moment, 2non created a foundation for the artist he is today. Early influences in R&B and hip-hop (Usher, The Neptunes, etc.) helped develop a rhythm. 2000's emo/indie rock (The Ataris, Dashboard Confessional, etc.) helped him explore melodies and lyrical embellishments. Coming from a transient area he ventured into a multitude of sound. With the area having many notable artists, he used their unique sounds as a catalyst to make a distinct style that would give birth to his musical identity. Now residing in Rockville, MD, 2non Vu will release his first EP in 7 years entitled, "Listen, Katrina." This music explores his mindset and thought process of going through a failed relationship. This collection of music celebrates the joy two individuals have had with the immediate acceptance that they are better off without each other. The process is emotionally volatile, but necessary for recovery and self worth. "Listen, Katrina." allows the listener to be grateful for the moments that have been had and for your heart to remain open for the future.
